I want to thank all of my children and Grandchildren for taking time out of their busy lives to make special gifts, take me to dinner,sing special Grandma songs and making those long distance phone calls. I love all of you and I am very proud of all of you I am also greatful to Bernard for the talk he gave at church yesterday on respecting wives he shared alot of personal stories along with alot of emotions he did a great job and he even taught my primary class (7, 3year olds) so I could attend the Relief Society Conference. I just want you all to know that all I ever wanted as a young girl growing up was to be a wife and mother and grandmother so again thank you to everyone in the family including son-in-laws and daughter-in-laws for making this all possible I LOVE YOU ALL XOXOXOXOXOX

A big thank you to Janelle for accomadating everyone on short notice and a big thank you to Janae for driving all that way so that we could spend some time together and thanks so much Mia for being such a good (nanny) we love you and it is obivious that the girls do to.I have been trying to blog some pictures but I seem to have lost my touch since it has been so long. I will keep trying anyway it was great to be with everyone the girls are so entertaining and growing so much, Janelle and Brandon have a beautiful home. It was different being in the snow. It was beautiful I hadn't been in the snow like that since I was little and lived in Arkansas and I was to young to really remeber what it was like. It snowed everyday. It was great going to the Manti temple with Janelle and Janae, it is always a blessing to be in the temple but when you are in there with your children it makes it even more of a blessing. Thank you to Susan and Elvin for making this whole trip possible for us they are truly great friends. Again a BIG THANKS TO ALL!

I decided to write a little ditty about what is going on in our life. I'm sad because I can't find my camera and I am missing out on getting cute pics of Riley and Chase, I could have gotten cute pics of Amber and Cheyenne when they were here for two days. Oh well as for me and Dad we are just plugging along with alot of hope and faith that things will get better workwise for us soon. We finally have tenants for the rental, this is the first time in 23 years that we had to make the full house payment on the rental that has not been fun. On the upside tomorrow we get to experiment with the request for a skateboard cake for Tysons family birthday wii party. Last Friday we had a social at our house with some ward friends lets just say we hope that we didn't scare Debra's new husband Tom off, he is really a fun guy but there were alot of laughs and good old chit chat we opted not to play any games but just to talk and shot puns at each other all night anyway fun was had by all. So not anything exiciting but a bit of an update.

We had some grandpa and grandma time this past week with D,Am,Ty and Ava we had lots of fun playing games, the boys and Grandpa watched a couple of Star Wars movies we let them pick what we had for dinner one night was pizza and another nachos, Amber brought some homemade cookies that she had made. We had rainy weather most of the time so Grandpa got to hang out with us most of the time. Josh,Aub and Riley came over and we dyed eggs and the kids helped stuff the plastic eggs with candy.

We had a house full ( not as full as in the past we are down to about half of what it used to be about 25) on Easter Sunday, lots of good food and desserts, thank you Katrice, Richie and Trey for hiding the eggs and thanks Auntie Brenda for leaving the Jelly bean game Jackie and Aubrey took care of that one for me thanks girls.
as you can see from the pictures the backyard was well used by many.

Hope everyone had a good Easter Sunday filled with reflection of what the true meaning of Easter is as well as an Easter visit from the Easter bunny.

P.S. Thanks Janelle for the vidio you gave us for Christmas I put it in as soon as soon as Dad and I got home from church and just let it play until time for us to eat.

Just a update

Yeah we finallly have some work we are scheduled for the whole month of April for the most part. Sigh of relief for this month anyway.

We spent last Saturday planting some tomatoes, squash,and a bell pepper most of the time was spent building a barrier in the ground for the gophers it worked last year, although Dad is trying a different method this year it was quite time consuming so it better work.

Sunday was a fun filled family and friend farewell for Brenda and Kevan it was well attended with alot of good food and desserts. I still can't believe that Brenda is really moving she will truely be missed and was a big help visiting and helping take care of Mom/GG.

Last night we went to watch Tyson's school program it was adorable of course and so was he.
We went out for pizza with Drew, Jax and kids and watched the Sharks on the big screen at the pizza parlor I haven't missed to many sharks games this year.

Lesson from our Children

While reading through all the kids blogs I realized I too need to express my gratitude, many of us are facing hard times due to the economy we can let it drag us way down or we can make the best of our situations, I am grateful that we are not totally unemployed like some people we do have work come in it's just not as plentyful as it used to be, I am grateful for siblings who share in the concerns and well being of our Mother who needs all of us right now, I am grateful for my children who inspire me, lift me up when I am having down days and show unconditional love to everyone and I am grateful for great friends who are there when you need them and when they need us.

May we all continue to strive to do what we know is right and help where we can and who we can in these trying times, stress can do ugly things to our bodies and our minds so lets all look at life with our glasses half full and not half empty.

Utah for Thanksgiving

So this year has been quite different when it comes to the holidays and some birthdays. We miss celebrating birthdays with those who live far away it has taken a chunk out of party time. We were forunate to catch a ride with Josh, Aubrey and Riley to Utah to celebrate with the Bradfords and the Blacks. It was great seeing the girls and their families and their in-laws a good time was had and there was plenty of good food to eat as well as good conversation. We exchanged Christmas gifts since we won't be together this season.

We got to spend a few days at Janelle and Brandon's. We had fun helping them to decorate the office as well as their house for the holidays. Dad was also able to help with pruning trees and clearing out some old bushes so that you can see Brandons Chiropractic sign a little better at the office, grandpa had a little helper on this day(Sydney she looks after and takes good care of Grandpa, Janelle, Cairo and I were at school with London enjoing a thanksgiving feast Oh and he helped Janelle hang a mirror at the office as well. He enjoyed staying busy he and Sydney even went grocery shopping yes just the two of them.

The Bradfords and Nephi Utah

Bernard and I got to tag along with our friends Susan and Elvin and take a road trip to Utah to visit the Bradfords we had a good time cozing in the bed in the morning with all three girls I was so afraid that Cairo would be afraid of me since she is to young to remember me but YEAH she wasn't so yes I held her and carried her around as much as I could. We had fun making cookies, carving pumpkins some day maybe I will be able to blog the videos I took if I ever get my computer fixed. We took a drive up on the mountain and enjoyed the beautiful views ( check Janelle's blog for pic's) we played with the girls, did fun projects and ate good homecooked meals that I didn't make. Brandon's office is very nice he looks so official in his white doctor coat. Bernard and I got to experience some new muscle relaxing treatment from a really cool machine he has as well as an adjustment after AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it felt so good. I loved the muscle relaxing treatment I could have layed there for hours. All in all we had a great time and the weather was nice while we were there. Thanks Bradford family.

Update / New Mexico

Hey guys I am still here thanks to Josh and Aubrey's computer. Quick update I will try to get my computer to work long enough this next week so that I can post my pictures of my trip to New Mexico. It was good to see Janae, Cam and the girls and to be there for Laiken's birth, I wasn't Dad/Bernard but I gave it my best shot coaching Janae, her labor was so fast and the contraction's at the end were very hard to stay on top of but she was a trooper and Laiken is adorable not to mention a very good baby. It was fun spending time with Haiden and Kylie we read stories and stories and some more stories, we drew a flower garden on the chalk board wall, we made happy faces with lotion on their tummys and hands, they sang Taylor Swift songs to me and danced. It is always comforting to see your children with their families and see their new surroundings, meet the people that they associate with and to see how much they are loved but their ward families. It was fun watching Janae teach in Young Womens and to attend the Relief Society broadcast with her. It was however heartbreaking that Bernard wasn't there with me especially since his work for that week either got canceled or postponed. When I left he had a full week scheduled and couldn't go but then everything went haywire and he had to find things to do to stay busy. Well enough rambling all in all I had a great time and I even learned how to intall very large TV's on the wall. Thanks Cam it was fun I would be happy to assist you anytime.

Okay so it has been awhile so here we go I hope i can get this straight I have walked away from the computer several times while trying to post this. First you will see a pic by itself of Ava and her pumpkin this pic is seperate from the rest (oops) then its Ava and her pumpkin and London's we used to think that Londons was soooo big well not anymore(hum can't imagine why), then its Grandpa and Riley playing with his birthday present from Riley and his Dad and Mom, then we have the famous Luau pig the highlight of the luau is the unearthing of the pig, the unveiling and then of course the beautifully well roasted pig with it's grapevine wreath hand made by Dad from his very own home grown grapevine and the very carefully hand picked by Mom (from the many choices in Raley's produce section)large apple. Ummm yummy this was the best pig so far the meat didn't taste like pork it looked and tasted like turkey. (really I'm not kidding)

London this is your pumpkin, Sydney had three on her vine but two dropped off and now she has a little baby one, we are told that they will do that so we will see, Amber has one that is starting to get big it has passed the size that the others were when they fell off.

Janae, Cam and girls made it here safe and without flight delay it was a busy day for them, once that we arrived in Antich Janae fixed the girls their lunch and then Dad took Janae and Cam to the Chinese Buffet for lunch and I stayed home and put the girls down for a nap and did food prep for the family barbecue, we had a good turn out as usual but I was to busy to take picture's but I think Aubrey may have some to post later.

A very busy and mixed emotions weekend

I apoligize for the side ways pictures I could rotate them but for some reason I couldn't get them to save them that way.( oh well ) I tried, any way what a weekend.
It all began at 4:00 p.m. on friday with Brandon's graduation (yeah Brandon we are proud of you) followed by a great dinner.
Then we were off for one last slumber party for London and Sydney with Grandpa and Grandma. Sat. morning was our usual routine with the girls they always come and crawl in bed with us but this time they tickled Grandma out of the bed because of course Sydney was hunngey ( no it is not a typo that is how she says it) so off to the kitchen for Grandpa's pancakes requested in the shape of mickey mouse as you can see in the picture below and a whole lot of cool whip.
The plan for the day was that Aunt Jackie would bring the cousins over for one more fun day together. Grandpa thought it would be fun to take all of them to Chuckee Cheese for lunch I thought he was crazy since it was a Sat. and it would be booked full of birthday parties but Grandpa convinced me it would be fun and worth it and of course it was. When we got home Grandpa took the kids out in the backyard to play and to plant giant pumpkin seeds if the crop is good we may be hand delivering pumkins to Utah and to New Mexico (we will see) .
That evening we had all the family over for dinner to see the Bradfords and congradulate Brandon I think fun was had by all even though Janelle, Brandon, Dennis and Lisa were wiped out from loading up the moving van.
Needless to say the Bradfords are on Utah soil now safely they just have the trek to Blanding left.

Yes after almost 35 years of marriage he still lights up my life (lol) really finally after living here for 20 years we have overhead lighting in the living room (yes I said the living room. We also have a matching one in the entry way. The picture doesn't do it justice but it gives you and idea anyway it is exciting to me.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Last Saturday we had a fun trip to Monterey with the Bradfords. It was a perfect time to go there wasn't a large crowd of people. We started off with lunch at good old Bubba Gumps followed by some Bradford family shopping at Bubba Gumps store I love the picture I got of them, everyone was busy doing their own thing as you can see in the picture below .while I was sneaking a photo of the shoppers I was also able to sneak one in of Grandpa in a deep conversation with Cairo. Then off to the Aquarium, I was amazed by the school of fish which was what I saw first. It was alot of fun to watch London and Sydney look and touch different things. Sydney was amazing her tiny little legs walked through-out the Aquarium the entire time without complaining. Fun was had by all and we are glad we were able to get one more fun California adventure in with the Bradfords before they leave. Thanks guys for the invite.

Things may be all out of sorts it has been awhile since I blogged and I keep getting interrupted and lose track of my next step sorry, anyway last night we celebrated Tyson's b-day early because Drew,Jax and D-man all leave for Canada on his actual b-day, everyone seemed to have lots of fun it's always a busy place when we are all together, we had the sharks game on while we ate dinner, after dessert and presents while we sat around and visited Trey played some soothing music on the piano and then the Real Estate investors gathered around the table to beg borrow and steal some properties lets just say it was quite funny , energetic as well as little on the high volume side at times but very entertaining to watch when it was all over it was time for a little serious discussion with the kiddo's(D-man,Am,Ty.Ava,and Riley) around the table with big Drew leading the serious discussion on the importance of listening to and obeying your parents as well as getting along with your siblings which then was followed by a family prayer it was a good way to end a Sabbath day.

Update on Dad and his calling in the church. Dad was released as the High Councilmen over the 5th ward, he is now the 1st counselor in the Bishopric in the 5th ward, he is very excited to serve in this calling yet a little saddened that we don't get to do everything together anymore. We were very fortunate to have been able to serve together, there are a few High Councilmen who want to know how to get that calling in the 5th ward so that they can serve with their wives. We are very grateful to have this calling , this is the third time in the Bishopric and it is very good timing for us as far as Dad's work schedule is lighter then it has ever been and not as stressful.( I am still an advisor in the 5th ward, I will miss not having him sitting next to me.)

September was an exciting month with many trips to San Jose to visit the Bradfords with the arrival of Cairo, plus the extra bonus of London's first Sacrament meeting program. This past week we were busy planning and celebrating Amber's birthday, we enjoyed a family dinner at Olive Garden on Thursday and on Friday Grandpa, Aunt Janelle and myself all met at Drew and Jackies to help prepare for Amber's Libby Lu party and sleep over with friends it was a fun filled day ( London even got to go with Ava to her dance class because it was bring a friend day).
On Saturday we were hoping to all go to a corn maze since soccer was canceled for everyone but London because of the rain on Friday but the corn maze was closed also due to the rain, so instead Josh, Aubrey, Riley,Dad and I all took a trip to the distribution center then we went to Jack London square and walked around for awhile and then ate dinner at Tony Roma's ( gotta love the ribs). Anyway that's what we have been up to lately.

Drew and Riley did okay on the gift end as well. Grandpa tried to take Grandma down in the little pool but Drew and Josh came along and took Grandpa down and then Josh took Grandma down I will have to say it was quit refreshing , since we were already wet we decided to go down the water slide.

Yes finally with the help of Aubrey and Janelle I have joined the blogging club, so here goes most of you know that Bernard and I went out of town for his birthday a quick little get away, we took a nice drive to Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, Capitola,Seaside and then on to Monetrey not once did we step foot on the beach or chase waves instead we were on a pottery hunt we needed an new big pot and thought it would be fun to get one on our trip after two days of searching for one at a pottery shop we ended up at Home Depot in Seaside buying a pot just like one at the pottery shop for half the price. Oh well it was fun looking at all the pottery and fountains.
